The Tec Basics course is designed for divers to gain experience with technical dive equipment, focusing on buoyancy, trim, and foundational skills. It includes two knowledge development sessions, practical application, and two no-stop dives. This course is ideal for divers new to tec configurations or those needing a refresher, and it serves as a valuable introduction before advancing to the Tec 40 course.

Prerequisites

What You'll Learn

  • Technical diving equipment, proper rigging and setup
  • Trim, positioning and propulsion techniques
  • Team diving techniques and emergency procedures to deal with free flows and out of gas situations

Equipment

You'll start with some of your basic recreational scuba diving equipment and begin to add technical equipment. You may dive in either a single cylinder, double cylinder or sidemount configuration. Your instructor will help you make dive equipment decisions in line with your goals.
